Narok County Government Initiates Borehole Project, Paving the Way for Improved Water Access

Posted on : Tuesday , 12th December 2023

The Narok County Government is commencing a borehole project with the goal of providing more water to the community. The government spent Sh12 million on the borehole project, which took place in Ilkiragarien, Suswa Ward, Narok East Sub County. Governor Patrick Ntutu announced during the project's introduction that 38 boreholes have been drilled and outfitted around the county since the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) for 2022–2023 was unveiled. The Dry Port-Suswa Water project has provided clean water to 250 households in Suswa, where there is an essential demand for water. We won't give up on our attempts to supply our people with water, and we're determined to keep up these initiatives in the upcoming fiscal year.

According to Ntutu, the county's water coverage has increased to 75%, a notable improvement over the initial 47%., George Natembeya, the governor of Trans Nzoia County, who accompanied Ntutu on his visit of Suswa, commended the government for tackling urgent challenges that the locals experience. Natembeya expressed gratitude to the locals for choosing an administration that prioritises providing the people with developments. Under the CIDP 2022/2023, Suswa Ward would receive Sh100 million for project development, according to local Member of County Assembly Nickson Kisotu. As stated by Kisotu, the borehole project will hydrate the surrounding residents and benefit Kipise High School and the Ilkiragarien dispensary.
